Hal David presents the Johnny Mercer Award to Billy Joel in New York City on June 14, 2001. David wrote hit songs such as "Raindrops Keep Falling on my Head," "This Guy's in Love With You," "I'll Never Fall in Love Again," and "What The World Needs Now is Love." He was chairman emeritus of the Songwriters Hall of Fame. He died at 91.
