Lindsay Lohan and Oprah clash in new OWN trailer

Shocker: The production of Linsday Lohan’s first reality show did not go smoothly. As the first trailer depicts, Oprah Winfrey’s effort to capture the struggling star turned into a show about trying to make the show itself.

The first trailer for the docu-series Lindsay is below. The series from Oprah Winfrey’s OWN network promises an “honest, no-holds-barred account” and “an intimate, unflinching look” at the actress after she left rehab last year. The first preview suggests what we’ve been hearing for months: That Lohan was a very difficult subject who threatened to derail the project. “This is exactly what everybody said was going to happen and I believed differently,” Winfrey says. “You need to cut the [expletive].”

Reads the official description: “Equipped with a new personal assistant and sober coach, Lindsay moves into a New York hotel and begins the challenging search for a new apartment, while career pressures build.” Lindsay debuts Sunday, March 9.

'RoboCop' trailer: Joel Kinnaman back to the future

People are clearly nostalgic for RoboCop these days, what with Fox’s android-police show Almost Human premiering this fall and Matt Damon running around Elysium in a mechanized suit. And pretty soon their robot-lawman prayers will really be answered when the 1987 movie’s reboot is released next year.

In the first trailer, superfans will already notice some differences from the original (Joel Kinnaman’s RoboCop has a new backstory, for one), but they’ll also notice a slew of awesome new touches — not to mention an all-star cast that includes Samuel L. Jackson, Gary Oldman, Michael Keaton, and Abbie Cornish.

Check it out for yourself:

The new RoboCop, directed by José Padilha, hits theaters Feb. 7, 2014.

Pittacus Lore: 'Fall of Five' trailer

The countdown is ending … The Fall of Five is coming on Tuesday, and Pittacus Lore has beamed over a new trailer for fans. It’s told from the point of view of Sam’s father Malcolm, and recaps the last three novels and gives a few clues as to what’s going to happen in The Fall of Five. See it below:

In the newest installment, the Garde have always believed in strength in numbers, but after facing off with Mogadorian ruler Setrákus Ra, they realize they are hopelessly outgunned. So it’s back to Nine’s penthouse to perfect their legacies and emerge stronger than ever before. And when they find a crop circle in the shape of a Loric symbol, they think that might have found Number Five… unless it’s a trap.

Are you excited for Fall of Five?

'Evil Dead' trailer: A deep dive

Evil-Dead-Poster.jpg

Like a woodland-trapped demon waiting for someone to read the appropriate, evil-corporealizing incantation, the Evil Dead movie franchise has been quiet since 1992's Army of Darkness. But that will change on April 12 when the remake of director Sam Raimi’s original 1981 shocker The Evil Dead hits cinemas. Produced by the architects of the previous three films in the franchise — Raimi, Rob Tapert, and Bruce “Ash” Campbell — this new iteration is cowritten by Diablo Cody and stars Jane Levy (Suburgatory), Shiloh Fernandez, and Lou Taylor Pucci. Replacing Raimi in the director’s chair is newcomer Fede Alvarez, whose alien invasion short film Panic Attack! has garnered an impressive 7m views on the ol’ YouTube.

Will this reboot of Raimi’s cabin-in-the-woods tale make good on its promise to be “The most terrifying film you will ever experience”? We’ll have to wait until April to find out. But if the film does fail to frighten it won’t be because anyone stinted on the fake red stuff, as our breakdown of the movie’s new, red band trailer amply demonstrates.

Evil-Dead-trailer-01.jpg

After an establishing shot of the film’s cabin-in-the-woods setting Jane Levy’s frightened-out-of-her-mind Mia informs Shiloh Fernandez’s David that he must “get me out of here.” If they ever make the mistake of letting Eli Roth direct an episode of Suburgatory, this is probably what it will look like.

'Da Vinci's Demons': Hot trailer

Da-Vinicis-Demons

The early teaser footage of Da Vinci’s Demons wasn’t all that exciting. But the first full trailer is. The upcoming Starz drama series stars Tom Riley as the famed artist and inventor, elevated into a super-hero character with some help from writer David S. Goyer (The Dark Knight).

“He’s kind of super-hero-y anyway,” Goyer told critics at the network’s press tour session in Pasadena on Saturday morning. “[Some have said that] aside from Christ he’s the most recognizable figure in the world  … my approach wasn’t entirely dissimilar to [writing] Batman or Superman … He had an incredible life, we didn’t have to embellish as much as you’d think.” Goyer goes on to point out there’s some similarities between Da Vinci and Batman, that both had issues with their parents and, he says, at one point something “horrific” happened to Da Vinci in a cave.

In addition to releasing the Starz announced the series will premiere on Friday, April 12 (continuing Starz’ strategy of trying to carve out a popular premium cable slot on Friday nights, while rivals like Showtime, AMC and HBO fight it out on Sunday nights). Here’s the trailer:
