'Die Hard 5': Poster says it all?

Here’s a first look at the new teaser poster for A Good Day to Die Hard, and while it’s about as minimalist as Bruce Willis’ hairstyle, it still tells us pretty much everything we need to know about the new movie: Bruce is back, most of the action will take place in Russia, and there’s a decent chance the franchise will remain PG-13 friendly, you no-good melon farmer. Oh, and Jai Courtney will be joining as Jack McClane, John’s estranged son — but that can presumably wait until the next batch of promotional materials.

The tagline is a thing of groan-worthy beauty, combining McClane’s trademark catchphrase and wit with his penchant for getting into trouble at an exponentially increasing rate: First a skyscraper, then an airport, then a city, then a country, and now finally the world. One can only assume this will be setting up the sixth film, where McClane hitches a ride on a Russian rocket to do battle with the third Gruber brother, Franz, aboard the International Space Station. Or something like that. Check it out below:

A Good Day to Die Hard hits theaters on Feb. 14, 2013, inescapably making it A Good Valentine’s Day to Die Hard.

'On the Road': Poster art reveal

Jack Kerouac’s On the Road is such a seminal, sui generis work of Beat Generation fiction that it’s taken 55 years since its publication for a feature film adaptation to make its way to movie theaters. Everyone who’s read the book has an idea of how the story of two friends on a meandering road trip across America should look. Perhaps the biggest challenge facing director Walter Salles (The Motorcycle Diaries) was distilling all those disparate ideas into a single, unified feature film.

Then comes an even trickier question: How do you sell it? The Beats weren’t exactly known for being commercially oriented artists, but when you have a film featuring stars like Kristen Stewart, Viggo Mortensen, Amy Adams, and Kirsten Dunst, you kinda want to have them on your movie poster. How do you do that without making it seem like a crass play to boost your box office?

The design team at Percival & Associates have come up with an elegant solution in the final one sheet for the film, and EW has an exclusive first look. Check it out below (click the image to embiggen):
